AICE and Bright Futures

Florida law recognizes the Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) curriculum as a method of qualifying for a Florida Academic Medallion Scholars award or an Academic Scholars Award through the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program. To qualify for a Bright Futures Award utilizing the AICE curriculum option, students must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Complete the AICE curriculum requirements

    • Seven AICE courses and sit for the corresponding final exam(s).

  • Meet the appropriate SAT or ACT score (score requirement varies based on scholarship level awarded).

  • Complete 100 community service hours.

AICE Diploma & Bright Futures


Students who earn an AICE diploma, complete 100 hours of community service, and submit their Florida Financial Aid Applications by their high school graduation date, will qualify for the Florida Academic Scholar award regardless of SAT or ACT scores.

Completion of the AICE curriculum (without confirmation of the AICE diploma) requires students to:

  • Complete seven AICE courses and take the corresponding exam series for each course

  • At least one course and exam series must come from each of the subject groups listed below:

    • Group 1 – Mathematics and Sciences

    • Group 2 – Languages

    • Group 3 – Arts and Humanities

    • Group 4- Interdisciplinary and Skills-based Subjects

    • Group 5- Compulsory Core

                 2 additional classes may come from any group above
