Early Release/Late Arrival

To a student to qualify for early release/late arrival during senior year, the student must have:

Ocoee High School Early Release Late Arrival Form.

  1. A cumulative 2.5 unweighted GPA (prior to starting senior year)

     

  2. Received a college/career readiness indicator on their transcript (prior to senior year). To receive a college/career readiness indicator, students can either:

    1. Pass an Advanced Placement (AP) exam.

    2. Be dual enrolled at Valencia, UCF, UF, or Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and pass a class (earning college credit).

    3. Pass an industry certification exam (specified test in a CTE course at OHS or Technical College):

      1. Specific CTE courses that students may take at OHS to earn a college/career readiness indictor are: AgriScience Foundations, Journalism, and Digital Information Technology (DIT).

      2. CTE tracks that students may earn a college/career readiness indicator (by taking multiple years in the track, starting in 10th grade) are: Commercial Foods and Culinary Arts (food prep), Allied Health Assisting (medical assisting), Building Construction Technologies, Animal Sciences and Services, Horticulture Science and Services, Digital Design, Biomedical Sciences (medical lab technician), and Digital Video Technologies.

      3. Students may also dual-enroll at Orange Technical College and pass an industry certification exam while in their program of choice. The industry certification exams that qualify for the college/career readiness indicator are found at the Florida Department of Education site.

         

  3. Passed the FSA ELA (or received a concordant score to meet the graduation requirement).

     

  4. Passed the Algebra 1 EOC (or received a concordant score to meet the graduation requirement).
